About

The Kyodokan, Kosaka's general museum, houses a wealth of materials concerning Kosaka's geological and cultural history. Its colorful displays make it easy to understand Lake Towada's formation and people's lifestyles during the Jomon and Yayoi periods (BC8000 - AD300). Graphs, pictures, models and specimens fully explain the town's natural environment. In the outdoor display area is the old steam locomotive that used to travel between Kosaka and Odate and the guest carriage that once brought Imperial Prince Chichibu and Imperial Prince Takamatsu to Kosaka.

Archives about the town's historic buildings are also located here.
