Lake Towada is located approximately 20 kilometers northeast of Kosaka and borders between Akita and Aomori prefectures. Lake Towada is 327 meters (1073 ft) deep and is Japan’s 12th largest lake. It features two peninsulas and boasts of deep blue clear waters. It is a popular tourist destination that attracts visitors from all over Japan, particularly when the leaves turn during autumn.
