Report on Fundraiser at the '09 Acacia Festival

KIS Junior members who participated in last year’s Junior High and High School Overseas Experience Trip helped with this year’s fundraiser at the Acacia Matsuri. Collection box and explanation panels in hand, they walked around Central Park with their friends and collected money from festival patrons.
Thanks to their efforts, KIS raised a total of 40,140 yen this year!

We would like to express our gratitude to those who donated money.

KIS and KIS Junior members (and friends) who helped with our fundraiser, you did a wonderful job! Thank you for all of your hard work.
The money raised this year will go to the following charities:
The Japan Committee Vaccines for the World’s Children:
20,070 yen

The United Nations High Commissioner for Support of Refugee Camps in Dadaab, Kenya: 20,070 yen
In total, KIS donated 40,140 yen to charities this year.

Report on Charitable Giving

As a token of our appreciation for those who contributed to this year’s Acacia Matsuri fundraiser, we offered donors coffee and Japanese snacks purchased with KIS funds. 100% of the money collected at the festival has been donated to charity; KIS did not receive any of the money raised. We ask for your continued understanding, support, and cooperation in our future fundraising events.
