Petar Popovic from Serbia and Montenegro:
On Sunday, the 6th of February, we were invited to the snow party in the
central park in Kosaka town. The people of Kosaka showed us such lovely
hospitality then! Amongst much snow and many children, the party began.
Like all the children in the world, Kosaka children were very imaginative
and playful. We played a bingo game, made snowmen and other things. By
midday, we felt a comfortable fatigue. After playing together, the host
organization, KIS, served us warm soup and other stuff. We returned to
our hotel with a sense of fulfilling happiness. I thank you all very much.
From a happy participant of the JICA programme.
Selma Bijelic from Bosnia-Herzegovina:
I cannot find a place like Kosaka in the whole world. When I was playing
with the kids, I felt such big happiness and warm hearts from everyone
there. This is a small town, but I find that is has very a big heart and
spirit. To tell you the truth, I was feeling a bit sad, missing my son
in Bosnia who is waiting for my return home. However, to me, it was the
best day since my arrival in Japan. I will remember this occasion for the
rest of my life. I love you all very much . Thank you.
Arben Abedin Gazheli from Albania:
Our meeting with Kosaka citizens was very warm and joyful. Although it
was cold, due to snow, we felt at home. We find the same hospitality, as
we show at home, in Japan. Japan is a technologically developed country;
nevertheless, we met with very warm, hospitable people in the small town
of Kosaka. We enjoyed playing games organized by KIS, which made it possible
for us to socialize with the people of Kosaka., especially the wonderful
children. We feel honored about the attention and the hospitality paid
by Kosaka and we thank you very much from the bottom of our hearts. We
will never forget Kosaka Town!
Hibiki Kodama in Gr. 4 at Kosaka Elementary:
I went to the Snow Sports Festival last year. It was really fun so I went
this year too. First, we played name bingo. I wrote down lots of foreigner's
names and won two prizes. I was really happy. When we had the cheering
contest, all the foreigners singing a song they didn't understand at the
top of their lungs was really funny. Afterwards, we all drank yummy "ke
no shiru" to get warm. I want to participate next year too.
