The Event Schedule for the 2004 June JICA Participants

This year there are three groups of JICA participants coming to Kosaka. The first group of 14 participants from 11 countries arrive on the 21st of  June. We will be holding "The Big Day Out" on Sunday the 27th June, where three events will be held on the same day. Please come along and  participate.

Flag Painting

Place: Behind backnet of baseball field


Flag Painting is where the JICA participants and other visitor to our town get to paint their national flag. This time, the new flag to be added to Memorial Wall is Serbia Montenegro. The Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Republic of Srpska and the Ukraine flags will also be repainted. There are lots of flags to be painted so please come along and help and sign your name next to your country's flag. If raining, will be changed to the 4th July.

Tea Ceremony

Place: Nakakoji (old Kudo House)
Fee: 300YEN


We will be holding a traditional tea ceremony in a traditional Japanese house for the JICA participants. Nakakoji was built in 1885. It was the private residence Mr Sakubei KUDO who owned a lot of land in Kosaka Village at the time. The house was lived in up until 1998 when it was gifted to the town.


BARBECUE

To finish off the day, after the tea ceremony we will hold a BBQ party on the stage at Central Park(next to Memorial Wall).
