21 participants from 18 different countries are arriving August 16th at 2 PM. Wouldnft you like to join the cute day care center kids in welcoming them with flowers? The more people there are the more welcome the JICA participants will feel, so please come!!!
After an introduction to KIS, JICA participants will meet their host families/friends. Host families/friends can then freely introduce themselves and talk about their plans for the JICA participants.

JICA Welcome Party

When: 8/20 (Fri) 6:30 PM
Where: Kosaka Mine Office 2F
Fee: Members 500 yen
Non-members 1000 yen
Students 300 yen
Unlike past yearsf this welcome party is not a potluck. Wefve prepared a delicious banquet for everyone! (However, bringing more food is definitely welcome.) There will be a Powerpoint presentation introducing the participants and their countries. We are also looking for people to perform magic tricks, sing, and provide other entertainment.

Japanese Class

This is a conversation based class made up of 9 independent sessions, so you can attend whenever it is convenient for you. Due to itfs popularity last year, we will again be preparing a play in Japanese to present at the KIS Farewell Party. Japanese native speakers, if you are interested in helping the teacher make conversation, please contact the KIS office.

Flag Painting

We have JICA participants from two new countries this year: Benin and Macedonia. We will be retouching and adding names to the old flags too so please come out and help us.



 

International Cooking Class

When: 10/10 (Sun)
Cooking starts at 4 PM
Where: Sepamu 2F

What kinds of exotic foods will we get to try this year? As always, cooking starts at 4 PM. Bring an apron and help cook your favorite dish. Dinner will probably start around 6 PM. If you are just showing up to eat, please help us set up the dining area. Thanks!
