JICA Welcome Party |
On Monday the 18th of August, 20 JICA participants from 14 different countries came to Kosaka.
The following Friday the Kosaka International Society held a welcome party at the Kosaka Mine Office. After the speeches from the guests and the JICA participantsf self introductions, the entertainment of the night began. The Spanish class and English conversation class both sang a few songs which was followed by a musical instrument performance. Julie from Zimbabwe was dressed up in a Kimono. She was very excited about being dressed up in Japanese clothes and modelled them well.
Mr Hosoi was the M.C. for the party and wore a Japanese happi coat. While repeating things in many different languages, he desperately tried to boost the mood of the party and finally he burst into a song. Everybody was having such a wonderful time though that they were not listening to the M.C but going around chatting to people instead. The purpose of the party was international exchange so rather than it being a formal party, I think it was good that it turned out being a down to earth party. The Chairperson, Ms. Hosokawa ended the party officially with a single clap. After that, the participants headed off down to the local karaoke bar for a bit of dancing and a sing a long. |
