Jazz concert in celebrating the 10th Anniversary of the International Society

The Kosaka International Society was established in 1991, making this our tenth year of KIS activities. In celebration of our success, we held this year's "Kosaka International Society 10th anniversary Jazz Concert"

Evelyn Blakey was born in New York, a world-class musician in her own right, she was the first daughter born to legendary Jazz great Art Blakey. She has several fans throughout the world, and especially here in Japan. For our concert, people came from Kosaka and surrounding areas, we even had a guest drive from Miyagi prefecture! In total we had over 250 guests on hand to enjoy her performance; songs included 'Morning' and 'Ingenmame blues'. It was a great concert.

During these ten years, our membership continues to grow, as does our web of friendship around the globe. I wish to thank everyone for their continued support as we strive toward a limitless future. Thanks to the atmosphere that Evelyn Blakey and the Kobayashi Trio made, we could all enjoy a great evening together. I think it was an appropriately warm night, perfectly becoming of our tenth anniversary. The evening was a terrific success.
