Household Exchange Program

The 22 participants are divided into ten groups of two or three each. Each group is assigned to a ehostf, living in the area. As a basic aim, we hope that hosts can get together with their participant-friends at least three times during the three months that the participants are here.

Host Family / Host Friend Introduction Ceremony

Kosaka Gold Palace

This will be the formal introduction of the participant to their host families. This will be a chance for them to introduce themselves, and to plan their next meeting.

Folklore Concert and Welcome for JICA Participants

Korakukan Theatre

This year, we decided to combine the JICA participantfs welcome party with another event, a Peruvian music concert. More details can be found on the KIS 1999 Activity page.

Free Talking

Through the Free Talking sessions, the JICA participants will have a chance to introduce their country to the people of Kosaka. These sessions are conducted in English, but Raymond will be interpreting everything into Japanese. All sessions will be held at the Metal Mining Agency (MMAJ) from 19:00 until 20:30 in the conference room.

This is a class to teach the JICA participants simple, yet useful Japanese that they can use around town, or with their host families, or even on their trips around Japan.

Flag Painting

Chuo Park

This year we will be adding four new flags (Azerbaijan, France, Kazakhstan, and Korea) to the wall of flags in Chuo Park. We will also be doing touch-ups on the other flags in the park, and participants can add their signature under their countryfs flag.

International Cooking Classroom

Sepamu

This year, we will have 6 of the JICA participants prepare a dish from their home country. Please join us to watch them cook, and then we'll have a dinner party afterwards. Even if you only want to come and eat, please come to the main hall for the party!

Farewell Party

Some of our more talented International Society members will be preparing several homemade delights for this year's farewell party. We're trying to aim for a casual atmosphere this year; there will be a slideshow offering highlights of the JICA participant's three months in Kosaka. Please Join us!
