The KIS Halloween Party

I think it was about a month before the party, when my eldest child came home from elementary school and announced "I'm going to the Halloween party with my friend, so please make me a PAMPUMON-DEJIMON costume". My mind flooded with questions: Halloween party? Where? Who's having the party? What does a PAMPUMON-DEJIMON look like? Obviously, I had some research to do.

Happily, I wasn't alone in my plight, the friend's mother and I agreed to do our costume design together. I don't usually sew much, so it was a unique pleasure to see this 'thing' that I was making gradually start to resemble the pictures on the cards and books that I borrowed from my children. As the day of the party grew near, and I finished the costume for my younger child, the two of them were clearly getting excited. Seeing them running around the house in their costumes, all of the stress of making their costumes melted away. I was starting to look forward to the party myself.

On the day of the party, we all enjoyed the party together, regardless of nationality, age, etc. We played games, ate food and candy; the children really had a good time. I think it was a good chance for the children to experience something different. After the party was over, I was thinking about what to do for next year's costumes, as I drove home.
Maybe I'm just a silly parent; however, in the days since the party, I can't stop showing my friends the pictures of my kids at the party. Thank you so much for a wonderful time.
