Acacia Festival

Street Hockey
June 7th
Location: Parking lot of the old Kosaka Station.
In the case of rain, we will play in the gymnasium of the Chomin Kaikan

This will be a hockey tournament featuring teams from Akita prefecture, Aomori, and Iwate.

Flea Market and Grassroots Trade Fair

Location: Kokusai Hiroba

We will be accepting donated items, and holding a flea market; all profits will be given to a humanitarian organization.

International Children's Playtime

Japanese Language Classes

A Japanese language class aimed at the JICA researchers

This year will see the edition of the Flags from : Malawi, Mauritania, Nepal, and Tunisia

Six JICA Researchers will introduce recipes from their home country; then everyone will lend a hand in cooking our "international dinner".

This is mainly a childrens' party, with lots of fun and costumes.

JICA Farewell Party

After roughly three months of study in Kosaka, the researchers now say good-bye.

Tijuana Charity Drive

Collecting donations from the townsfolk to help some of the less fortunate people living in Tijuana, Mexico.

High School student's "Come home safe" party

A send-off party, to wish the participants an enjoyable trip.

High School Overseas Trip

When : March 22, 1998 - April 1st
Where : United States (Lakewood City)

The trip is centered on a homestay program in Lakewood, California. The Children will also go to Tijuana and see some volunteer work. Overall, this trip is a chance for the students to experience American history, culture, and lifestyle.
